Mattel is introducing its first Diwali Barbie doll, which the company says is being released as part of its “commitment to promoting celebrations of heritage.” The doll, unveiled Friday, is a collaboration with Indian fashion designer Anita Dongre.

It's almost time for Diwali, and how could Barbie miss out on the celebration? In homage to the five-day Indian holiday, also known as the festival of lights, Mattel has unveiled its first-ever Diwali Barbie doll in partnership with Indian couturier Anita Dongre.

The special Barbie Diwali doll has been dressed by Indian designer Anita Dongre, who has previously made outfits for Beyoncé and Kate Middleton, to name a few.
