Initially, it will be cold enough for all snow. Snow begins in southern and western Maine between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. In central and eastern Maine, it’s a later arrival, starting between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The steadiest snow will fall during the afternoon and early evening.

Snow returns to Maine on Thursday with a messy evening commute expected. A more significant snowstorm looks likely this weekend. Wednesday will be sunny but very cold with highs in the teens to near 20 degrees.

Areas west of I-495 to Pittsfield will see more snow than any other precipitation type. New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine will welcome all snow from this system.
