The thieves left dozens of shoe boxes, some bagged in plastic, strewn around the hole carved into the mall's concrete roof.

A burglary at Treasure Coast Square mall began with hole in roof, resulting in thousands of dollars of sporting shoes taken.

"The stolen merchandise was bagged, tagged, thrown off the roof, and loaded into a getaway vehicle," officials said.
