The Canucks have lost four of their last five games and are about to start a three-game Central Division road trip.

The Vancouver Canucks are right back in action on Sunday as the Edmonton Oilers come to town for a Pacific Division battle at Rogers Arena. Both teams will play their second game in as many days, and we will see this more often this season with the condensed schedule.

The Penguins have been rotating goaltenders Tristan Jarry and Arturs Silovs and if the form chart stays intact — even though Jarry made 31 saves Saturday in a 3-0 victory Saturday at San Jose — Silovs should face his former club when the Vancouver Canucks make their fourth stop on an impressive five-game road trip in which they’re 3-0.

The Predators made one other move this week, sending Brady Martin back to the OHL after a three-game trial in Nashville. As per the CHL-NHL agreement, Martin cannot return to the Predators this season. The earliest he can return would be the 2026-27 season.

The Vancouver Canucks’ goaltending tandem of Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen have received praise, for the most part, heading into the 2025–26 season in terms of how they compare to the rest of the NHL.

The Canucks are running out of players. This may prove to be the death blow to their playoff hopes, almost before they even began.
