A ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia appeared to largely be holding on Tuesday as military commanders from both countries met for negotiations, even as the Thai army accused Cambodian troops of violating the truce overnight.

PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia (AP) — Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an “unconditional” ceasefire starting at midnight, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Monday, a significant breakthrough to resolve five days of deadly border clashes that have killed dozens and displaced tens of thousands of people.

Thailand and Cambodia clashed for a third day, as the death toll from their bloodiest fighting in years rose to over 30 and Cambodia called for an "immediate ceasefire".
