Arsenal’s excellent form throughout October has earned recognition at Premier League level, with both Mikel Arteta and Jurrien Timber shortlisted for end-of-month October honours.

Viktor Gyokeres and Declan Rice scored a headed goal apiece and Arsenal extended their Premier League winning streak to five games with a 2-0 triumph away to newly promoted Burnley on Saturday.

Max Dowman has become the youngest player to start for Arsenal after being named in their starting XI for the Carabao Cup tie against Brighton. Dowman, who is 15 years and 302 days old, beats the previous record set by Jack Porter, who started in the Carabao Cup against Bolton Wanderers in September 2024 aged 16 years 72 days.

Eberechi Eze scored against his former club a red-hot Arsenal held firm against Crystal Palace in a 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Arsenal open up a four-point lead on the field as they reach 22 points through nine matches. Once high up the table, Crystal Palace slide all the way to 10th with their 13 points.

The first half was an impressive show of dominance from the league leaders, preventing their hosts from having a shot of any kind in the opening 45 minutes. Arsenal took the lead on 14 minutes, Viktor Gyokeres heading home from a matter of inches after Gabriel had headed a Declan Rice corner back across the Burnley goal.
