Amazon is officially shutting down Freevee, its free, ad-supported video streaming service originally launched under the IMDb brand.

Amazon reveals that it is shutting down Freevee, its FAST channel, now that Prime Video has ads, but some content remains free to all.

Amazon is going to shut down Freevee, its free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) service. The service’s content has already been migrated over to Prime Video and new episodes of Freevee shows will be available to people who don’t pay for Prime, Deadline reports. The brand will be phased out “over the coming weeks,” Deadline says.

Amazon is preparing to shutter the doors on Freevee. The tech giant will soon phase out Amazon Freevee as it consolidates its content to Prime Video. Original series including “Jury Duty,” “Bosch: Legacy” and “Judy Justice” will remain on Prime Video without a paywall.
