YEMASSEE, S.C. ( WSAV) – Police in South Carolina were asking for the public’s help in locating 40 primates that escaped from a research facility on Wednesday. The animals escaped from the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center in Yemassee, according to the Yemassee Police Department.

Police are searching for more than 40 monkeys that escaped from a medical research facility in Yemassee, South Carolina, on Nov. 6. Forty-three Rhesus macaque monkeys broke out out of the Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center on Wednesday afternoon, according to a Yemassee Police Department statement.
