BAY CITY, MI — After nearly a year of treatment, an Isabella County man accused of stabbing his sleeping parents is psychologically well enough to face a federal trial.

One of the men who authorities say helped take down a suspect who stabbed eleven people at a Walmart told NBC News about how he sprung into action. Marine veteran Matthew Kolakowski says he took off running after the suspect and rammed him with a grocery cart to prevent him from hurting more people.

Darius Barney, 25, was arrested less than two hours after the deadly attack on Saturday night, Chicago police said.

A man has died two days after being stabbed in West Dallas last week, according to a statement Monday by police. Officers responded to a call about a stabbing in the 3300 block of Brantley Street on Friday at about 1:20 a.m., a statement from Dallas police said. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man that had been stabbed.
