Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Thursday that he was declaring Friday “Hulk Hogan Day” across the state in honor of the WWE megastar, who died at the age of 71 on July 24 at his home in Clearwater, Fla.

To honor the life and legacy of Tampa Bay’s most famous celebrity, DeSantis has declared Aug. 1 as “Hulk Hogan Day in Florida.”

Flags at the State Capitol and throughout Pinellas County have been ordered to fly at half-staff Friday in Hulk Hogan's honor. "He was a true Floridian through and through," wrote Governor Ron DeSantis.
