Duran stayed on the top step of the dugout and glared at the fan as the inning played out. During the seventh-inning stretch, before the singing of "God Bless America," Red Sox teammates and coaches kept Duran away from the area as umpires and Progressive Field security personnel gathered to handle the situation.

CLEVELAND — A fan at Progressive Field on Sunday made an inappropriate comment to Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran relating to his prior suicide attempt. After Duran flied out to center field in the seventh inning, a fan yelled at Duran, “Go (expletive) kill yourself.”

The remark was in reference to Duran admitting that he attempted suicide in 2022 during an interview with Netflix that was first aired earlier this month.
