Sheriff Bill Waybourn, who first took office as a Republican in 2017, is facing a challenge from Democrat Patrick Moses, a retired law enforcement officer. Waybourn won with 53% of the vote, according to unofficial results.

Two-term incumbent Republican Sheriff Bill Waybourn leads Democratic challenger Patrick Moses by nearly 10 points after the latest results were released. The winner of the contest will take office on Jan. 1, 2025. The term will last four years. Waybourn had 54.10% of the vote to Moses’ 45.9%. with 111 of 350 vote centers reporting.
