Uber is investing hundreds of millions of dollars into Lucid and autonomous vehicle technology startup Nuro in a bid to launch its own robotaxi service.

The robotaxi revolution appears to be heating up. The autonomous robotaxi service will begin rolling out in a major U.S. city in 2026, with plans to expand to dozens of markets worldwide over the following six years.

Uber Technologies Inc. is teaming up with electric vehicle maker Lucid Group Inc. and self-driving tech startup Nuro to launch a robotaxi fleet.
