Protesters from across South Florida are expected to take part in “No Kings” demonstrations this weekend, with events planned in several cities.

Late Wednesday night, the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League shelter was alerted to a case involving over 50 cats kept in filthy conditions in Naples. By Thursday morning, the rescue said its team was on the road, returning with more than 20 of the most urgent cases, many needing immediate medical care.

A local event related to nationwide demonstrations on June 14 will include a march across Southern Boulevard into Palm Beach.
