The Chicago Cubs have brought infielder Nicky Lopez back on a major-league deal after he had spent spring training with the organization.

Nicky Lopez was at home in Arizona with his wife on Tuesday night, watching the Cubs’ wild comeback win over the Dodgers. One day later, he was wearing a Cubs uniform and standing in front of his new locker inside Wrigley Field.

The Cubs designated Gave Workman for assignment as they continue to tinker with the third-base position group.
