Minnesota Timberwolves star Naz Reid intends to sign a five-year, $125 million contract to stay with the franchise, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Reid was set to become one of the top free agents available on the open market, but instead, will stay with the franchise that signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

It’s a good thing that the Minnesota Timberwolves were able to get Naz Reid to agree on a new extension. Because the Detroit Pistons were reportedly looking to make a serious push at luring away the talented forward if he tested free agency.

While whoever is selected with the 31st overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft will end up donning a Minnesota Timberwolves hat no matter what, there seems to be a decent chance that they won't end up playing basketball in the Twin Cities.
