A volcano dubbed the Mountain of God could be on the verge of erupting. Scientists have discovered that Ol Doinyo Lengai, a volcano in the north of Tanzania, has swelling around its base. That is one sign which indicates it could erupt soon.

Scientists have observed land surrounding a "unique" volcano in Tanzania bulging, a sign that a massive reservoir of magma is puffing up the surrounding areas like a balloon — and possibly an impending eruption.

Reports of pillars of smoke rising from the jungle in the northwest of the state have been documented since the 1800s.The legend became known as the 'Wakulla Swamp Volcano'.
