New York Giants assistant head coach Mike Kafka says he has one year remaining on his contract and “loves working” with Brian Daboll.

Mike Kafka’s future could turn in a lot of different directions. The Giants assistant head coach/offensive coordinator revealed Thursday that he is under contract in 2025, which means he can be blocked from interviewing to make a lateral move even though another team might allow him to regain the play-calling responsibilities that he lost to head coach Brian Daboll after the 2023 season.

Relegated to a background role this season after calling the plays for his first two seasons, the future seems uncertain for New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka. If head coach Brian Daboll loses his job after Sunday’s season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles most if not all of Daboll’s coaching staff will be looking for new employers.
