Republican Rep. Mark Green of Tennessee plans to resign from Congress for a private-sector job "too exciting to pass up," once the House takes its final vote on President Donald Trump's massive policy bill.

Green, the chair of the House Homeland Security Committee, said he will vacate his seat after the next House vote on a Trump agenda bill.

U.S. Rep. Mark Green, R-Tennessee, has announced he will resign from the 7th Congressional District to pursue an "exciting" opportunity in the private sector. Green made the announcement June 9.
