"No Kings," a nationwide series of protests scheduled for Saturday, was planned as a counter to the military parade taking place in Washington D.C. on the same day. That parade is being held in honor of the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary and, coincidentally, Mr. Trump's 79th birthday.

More than 1,500 events are planned throughout the U.S. to send a loud message to President Donald Trump: “In America, we don’t do kings.”

Thousands of demonstrators were gathering in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California on Saturday to protest the policies of the Trump administration in the nationwide “No Kings Day of Defiance” demonstrations.

The rallies, named "No Kings Day" to oppose what they see as a power grab by Trump, are expected to be the largest and most numerous protests since Trump's second term began, dwarfing the Hands Off protests in early April that drew as many as 1 million Americans to the streets at more than 1,000 rallies.

The largest "No Kings" protest on June 14 is expected to take place in Philadelphia as a nod to the country's history and to avoid accusations that protesters are opposing the Army parade in the nation's capital, organizers have said.

"No Kings Day" protests are set to be held in SoCal and across the U.S. on Saturday to protest President Trump's administration.
