It was Olle Lycksell who got his first goal as a Senator, and it stood up as the game-winner for the Sens, who improved to 3-4-1 on the young season. Lycksell played 19 games for the Flyers last season before signing in Ottawa over the summer.
Ullmark has posted a 2-3-0 record with a 3.99 goals-against average and an .848 save percentage this season. He wasn’t happy with the way Anders Lee scored the winner in the final minute of the club’s 5-4 loss to the New York Islanders on Saturday at home, but he is determined to move on.
No. 3-ranked Michigan blanked No. 2 Western Michigan, 4-0, at Yost Ice Arena in Ann Arbor on Thursday. The Wolverines are 7-0 for the first time since 1979 and are off the best defensive start in program history. Freshman goalie Jack Ivankovic stopped a career-high 32 shots against the defending NCAA champions.
Darche also announced that Pierre Engvall is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season after undergoing ankle surgery.
