New York will be the exception this season. The Knicks have 14 fully guaranteed contracts, and the battle for the final roster spot has just become a lot more interesting. The Knicks announced that they will be bringing in veteran floor-stretching big man Marcus Morris Sr.

Morris, who spent two seasons with the Celtics from 2017-19, is returning to New York after playing 43 games with the Knicks during the 2019-20 season.

Morris was acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers in the James Harden deal in October and played 37 games for his hometown Sixers and averaged 6.7 points and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 40% from deep. He started seven of those 37 games before he was sent to the San Antonio Spurs in a 3-team deadline deal for Philadelphia to acquire Buddy Hield.
