White supremacist who sparked massive manhunt after escaping Idaho hospital is jailed for life - Skylar Meade and his accomplice were both members of the Aryan Knights, police said

An Idaho inmate was sentenced Friday to life in prison for escaping state custody at a Boise hospital after the corrections officers guarding him were violently attacked. Skylar Meade pleaded guilty to the escape and to sentencing enhancement for being a persistent violator and for causing bodily injury during the crime earlier this year.

Idaho Department of Correction Officer Daniel Lopez said he wanted to believe that the actions taken by Skylar Meade, the prisoner who escaped in a hospital ambush, were an “extreme slipup” in judgment from someone tired of being incarcerated.
