Democrats on Friday called on President Joe Biden to step aside as the party’s nominee for the 2024 election, bringing the total to 35.
A group of four House Democrats -- Reps. Jared Huffman, D-Calif.; Marc Veasey, D-Texas; Chuy Garcia, D-Ill.; and Mark Pocan, D-Wis. -- released a joint statement Friday calling on President Biden to step aside and end his campaign.
The odds of Trump securing victory over Biden have lengthened from 2/5 on Thursday to 8/15 on Friday, according to William Hill.
A top Trump campaign official said Thursday that the 2024 presidential race will not be over until Inauguration Day, rather than after Election Day on Nov. 5 — when voters across the nation go to the polls to cast their ballots and a result normally is projected.
Ballots, which were mailed to voters on July 19, must be postmarked by Tuesday, Aug. 6, or deposited in an official drop box by 8 p.m. Aug. 6. Postage is not required.
For years, Trump and his allies targeted election officials, resulting in threats. So, to them, calls for civility often ring hollow.
