The National Hurricane Center increased its odds that a tropical system could develop near Florida late this week or early next week as forecasters expect a wet July 4 weekend for South Florida.

The chance of a tropical system developing on July 4th continue to increase, but there's a silver lining. The tropical system has a 60% chance for development over the next seven days and a 20% chance over the next 48 hours.

The National Hurricane Center has upped the likelihood of tropical development near or over Florida, but chances remain low.
