In the opening ODI of the three-match series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium, India dominated England with an all-round performance.

Shreyas Iyer fell to Jacob Bethell on 59 in 36 balls. Iyer put up a sublime display of attacking batting and raced to his half-century in just 30 balls. His counter-attacking stand with Shubman Gill undid whatever advantage England gained with early strikes.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will return to the India fold after a month-long break. India will be missing the services of Jasprit Bumrah in the ODI series.
