The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has designated cornerback Garrett Williams to return from the injured reserve list. Williams can begin practicing and the team can activate him to the 53-man roster at any time during the next 21 days or at the conclusion of the three-week period.

The Arizona Cardinals are cutting ties with their veteran running back and have released Michael Carter, and that move has brought speculation on what the roster move was for, in hopes that the Cards will make a trade for a star RB.

The Arizona Cardinals released running back Michael Carter and defensive back Darren Hall on Monday, according to the NFL's transactions wire.

The move to cut Carter is interesting because that leaves only two running backs on the roster — Bam Knight and Emari Demercado, who missed the Cardinals' last game with an ankle injury.
