Elon Musk's X social network carried out an automatic update overnight on phone applications that allowed it to bypass a ban in Brazil, an association of internet providers said Wednesday.

Some Brazilian users reconnected with X on Wednesday despite the Supreme Court's recent nationwide ban, the result of the social network apparently changing the way its servers are accessed. The reunion may be short-lived,

The fight between Elon Musk and Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes has entered unchartered waters. According to a post on X, Brazil’s bar and NOVO party have filed to overturn Moraes’ X ban in the country.

Elon Musk’s X managed to bypass a ban of the social media network in Brazil though an automatic update of its software, an association of Brazilian internet providers said Wednesday.

Elon Musk’s social media platform used a technical maneuver to restore service for many Brazilians after a court blocked it. Blocking it again would be difficult, experts said.
