This season, seven players have suffered torn Achilles tendons, including Indiana's James Wiseman, New Orleans' Dejounte Murray, Indiana's Isaiah Jackson and Miami's Dru Smith, along with the three stars who sustained the injury during the playoffs.

Tyrese Haliburton was the third star lost during the NBA postseason to an Achilles tear, following Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics.

Kevin Durant' fingerprints were all over these NBA Finals, and it's not just because he was once the best player in the history of the team that eventually claimed the championship. Nor was it because Durant's torn Achilles in the 2019 finals showed us the perils of playing through a calf injury as Haliburton was attempting to do.
