Literally seconds of 'downtime' on any given device, there's always fresh batteries at the ready, and I have zero problems with custom connections or charge stations taking up additional space.

Anything above 5 watts will eventually damage the chip and it will no longer charge correctly. Phone chargers and laptop chargers are the most common way people do this.
