WEBAug 4, 2007 · The lathe is made by Central Machinery, and imported by Harbor Freight. I have compared this lathe to the Jet lathe (model JWL-1236) and it is an exact doppelganger. They appear to be identical in nearly every way, except for the colour. The box said "Taiwan" as the country of manufacture.

WEBFeb 9, 2009 · The T-handle was around $5.00 at Woodcraft and $19.99 at Jet. Once you get all of the parts then the Jet Banjo fits and works just fine on the Harbor Freight #34706 lathe. I have really enjoyed the Harbor Freight lathe and feel like it was a very good purchase for a beginner like me.

WEBFeb 2, 2006 · The club I am in has a Rikon 70-220VSR lathe. It is a fairly nice lathe, but the tailstock has a problem. It doesn't retract entirely. I took the hand wheel, quill lock, and set screw off. Removed the Quill and threaded part. I cleaned a LOT of black dust out of the RAM Socket with WD40 but this only marginally helped.
