WEBOct 29, 2020 · Hi, As far as I'm aware there are no HDMI 2.1 to DP 1.4 converters, HDMI 2.0 to DP 1.4 doesn't exist either. Also, you can't just do this kind of thing with any cable. The adaptor has to be 'Active' (i.e. powered). Plus, it has to be the right direction. The cable must be HDMI to Display Port. A DP to HDMI won't work.

WEBMay 28, 2017 · Recently I got a Surface Pro 4 and tried plugging the same thing to it (mini displayport adapter to hdmi, plugged in to 21:9 monitor using hdmi cable). Unfortunately I'm only getting 1920x1080 and the image quality is also quite fuzzy. I updated all the drivers, I even tried forcibly installing the newest drivers for Iris 540, but to no avail.
